The position of General Manager represents a unique opportunity to take a pivotal leadership role with a leading Dannevirke-based Civil Construction contractor with a long and positive history in the region.
Established in the early nineteen fifties and delivering many major projects this company has fostered strong client relationships and a recognisable and trusted brand.
As General Manager you will utilise your expert knowledge in civil construction to effectively manage projects and apply your business operational experience to drive financial and operational performance.
Working alongside the partners in the company you will be involved in the planning and implementation of company strategy and measuring progress against goals and objectives. You will continue to build on the performance and reputation of this brand in the market. Your focus will be on developing and expanding business growth opportunities through strong leadership with focus and direction. This will require effective team management and development, operational and strategic business planning, achieving financial performance targets and attaining excellence in client service delivery.
This opportunity will captivate a truly skilled business leader from the construction or engineering sector who is keen to enhance, develop and grow a business. The ideal candidate will have:
•Proven leadership ability with a track record of successful management at an operational level,
•Advanced relationship management skills, with an ability to build and maintain solid relationships with people at all levels of the business,
•Astute commercial judgement in the management of customers, competitors, stakeholders and business positioning in a relatively complex environment,
•Effective decision making, negotiation and presentation skills,
•A relevant tertiary level qualification and project management experience.
